After a relaxing weekend getaway in Northern Michigan, the Kinaya brothers (Matthew, Christopher and Patrick) were heading back home with a four-hour ride ahead of them. During their drive, they made a stop at a local sandwich shop. Looking through the glass, trying to decide what toppings to put on their sandwiches, nothing seemed to look appetizing. It seemed as though the toppings had been sitting there for days, causing them to leave the place without eating. It was at that moment, a lightbulb went off. As restaurant owners, they put their heads together and created the idea of Genius Pan. The pan with a mechanism to raise the contents, keeping food fresh and looking full all the time. Not only does Genius Pan keep food fresh and looking full, it decreases the amount of food waste. Their vision is for restaurant owners to use the Genius Pan to allow them to manage their inventory, reduce unnecessary food waste, and keep their food looking full and fresh all day, every day.
